When you announce your pregnancy obviously you are excited and looking forwards to the big changes that are about to happen in your life, and your body?
As time goes on people begin to notice and then some feel that as a conversation opener. It seems to become neccessary for them to go into graphic details of how the birth was perfect agony for up to 48 hours and so on....
Great! you think....
Interestingly the mind grabs hold of negative suggestions so that you don't hear the positive ones. People who have had a peaceful birth don't often feel the need to comment!
However , you might scoff at their exaggerations but somehow the horror stories start to sink in to disturb what should be a wonderful bonding time, a natural time in your life.
The mind is amazing.... and there really is a mind-body connection.

Fear and tension can often interfere with the brains natural pain release chemistry. Your birth can become more stressful if you expect it to be . Thoughts put there by those comments ,that people feel compelled to share ,act in a negative way in your subconscious, which then becomes part of your own belief system.
