Confidence

Confidence is being comfortable in your own skin to feel as valuable as everyone else on the planet; to accept yourself and your abilities, or lack of them. Most people who present for Hypnotherapy requiring help with confidence issues are too busy comparing themselves with others. They check that they are being accepted by other people´s standards and perceive themselves as being not quite as good as those around them.
A child is born with a blank slate and knows no perception of having to fit into society, there have been many people who are born into “dysfunctional” families yet still grow with a belief in self, maybe it´s in spite of this, or maybe they choose to learn and move on to better things.
It´s a sink or swim situation which makes these people some of the most successful. Others are not so lucky, they realise that in order to feel more comfortable in social situations that they should not bring attention to themselves.
Others who on the surface had a better chance may have been so protected from harm so that when they venture out into society they are unable to cope with the rules, and fall from a mighty height when they discover that they are not the most important person on the planet.
Bring your children up to believe that there is no one more important than anyone else and do not buy into societies´ celebrity and hero worship, we are all making a difference just by living our own lives.
Lack of self confidence evokes emotional symptoms and effects in all areas of life which can be eased by talking through your feelings with non judgemental professional ear.
Stride out and be happy to be an individual, there is no one else like you, if you perceive that other people judge you harshly, then look inside of yourself and think of all that you have, all that you have achieved in your life. We tread the same journey only following many different pathways.
